From Thanksgiving to New Years
Twinkling lights and colorful displays await you at our annual holiday light event!
From Thanksgiving through January we invite you to join us in the warm cave as tens of thousands of bulbs guide you along and illuminate the darkest corners with color and festivity.
Since the cave is completely underground, this light show can be experienced any time of day (as long as we’re open, of course!); however, those that visit after the sun goes down will get an extra treat as our above ground decor wraps the landscape in lights and colors of their own.
Since we only have one cave, the lights and decor will be present on ALL tours for the duration of the event. Guests will still receive the same educational information that we provide on all tours.

Safety Warning
While we put in a significant amount of effort to ensure the safety of our guests, some lighting effects may affect certain visitors in unintended ways.
Some areas above and below ground are intentionally darkened to enhance light features and may feature rotating laser and color-block lights. The motion is a consistent, medium or slow speed. Twinkling effects are kept to a minimum, and flashing/strobe effects are avoided to the best of our ability.
Guests who experience photosensitivity should exhibit caution when visiting Cave of the Mounds for the duration of this event.
No special ticket purchase necessary. All tours enjoy the lights during this event.
